Hat Head, NSW

December 2019

My cousin turned 30 in November so she organised a camping trip to Hat Head on the NSW mid north coast for her birthday. We took Maggie so we thought it might be a bit far to drive in 1 day so we took 2 days to drive up there and stopped halfway just outside Newcastle for our first night. The next morning we made our way to Hat Head, but it was heartbreaking to drive through some of the areas which have been devastated by the fires recently.

We spent 2 days camping with family and new friends. We had the best time floating on the river, swimming at the beach, slack lining, and just relaxing in the sun (in between sheltering from the rain!). Then we stayed a bit longer and went up to Coffs Harbour to stay with my cousin for a night before we headed home. Maggie loved her first camping trip, especially sleeping in bed with us!
