Jervis Bay

23 March 2019

For our first wedding anniversary we decided to take the van to Jervis Bay and stayed 2 nights on the coast making the most of the warm weather and exploring as many beautiful beaches as possible. We headed off after work on Friday and stayed at a free campsite (basically a clearing off a fire trail) close to Hyams Beach and then got up before sunrise to drive down to Hyams Beach for sunrise. We walked along the beach as the sun came up across the ocean, following a pod of dolphins before they headed out to deeper water.

We spent the day exploring around Jervis Bay and then headed north to another free campsite at Jamberoo. We had a lovely picnic dinner watching a local cricket game and opened our bottle of red wine that we kept from our wedding day.

Sunday morning we got up before sunrise again and headed to Kiama rock pools for a spectacular sunrise. Jack had a surf at Bombo beach before we took a slow drive home through the Southern Highlands. Now that we have been once we can't wait to go back!
