Where should I get my photos printed?
I am often asked by my clients where I would recommend to get photos printed from their session.
There are a few options I would recommend depending on quality, ease of ordering and budget which I have outlined below.
I always recommend printing your photos to keep your special memories alive for generations to come.
Ordering through your gallery
You can order prints directly through your online gallery. Once you have viewed and downloaded your images and selected your favourites, click on the SHOP tab to order your prints. Select from different print and frame options or print your favourites in an album.
All prints are printed in Australia through professional print lab, Atkins Lab.
Order Locally
Another option is to order locally through Canberra professional print lab, Lucent Imaging. Once you have downloaded your images and selected your favourites you can order prints directly through their website.
I suggest selecting Hahnemühle Photo Rag for the paper choice.
Lucent Imaging also has options for framing, otherwise I would suggest taking your prints to Canberra City Framing Gallery.
Online Print & Frame
There are a few other online print and frame options I have personally tested and would recommend;
Print & Frame or print only options. Handmade in Melbourne using sustainable materials.
2. FrameFox
Plenty of size and framing options with single or multiple images in a frame, caption frames or gallery wall arrangements.
FrameFox also has options for canvas printing which is a great way to print your photos to make them look like a work of art. Custom made in Melbourne using sustainable materials.
Photo Books
Personally I have been printing annual photo books since 2016. I love being able to look back at my photos from the year in a printed format and share them with family. I also like to print separate books from holidays or special memories. I have used a few options for printing my photo books;
1. OnceUpon
I recently printed my last few years of photo books with OnceUpon. It was really easy to use the app on my phone to create and order the books and the quality was great.
In previous years I have used Artifact Uprising. The quality is amazing but I did find it a bit more time consuming to create the albums. I have recently heard they also have an app which I haven't tried but that would make it a lot easier.
10c Prints
While I wouldn't recommend printing through cheap photo printing services for your framed prints, if you are going to get some photos printed for a DIY album or to put on your fridge, the best of the cheap photo printing services to use is Big W. Be warned; you will lose some of the details and colours may be a bit off. Overall these prints tend to be a bit more saturated and not as sharp as professional print labs, but they are good enough for small prints.
